Important To-Do’s

What dress are the bridesmaids wearing?

I want you guys to choose your dresses! You will all be wearing the same color (lavender) and length (floor length), but I’m leaving the style up to you. Please pick a dress from the link below by March 17th and send me the link. I want to make sure no one is wearing the same dress. Please be prepared to purchase no later than March 31st to allow time for shipping and any last minute size exchanges!

What shoes and accessories should the bridesmaids wear?

Shoes: a simple, strappy sandal heel that matches your skin tone.

Jewelry: any type of pearl jewelry is perfect! I’d love for you all to wear any variation of simple pearl studs, dangling earrings with pearls, a pearl pendant necklace… it doesn’t matter as long as it has pearls.

What is the plan for the wedding weekend?

The wedding rehearsal dinner will be Friday, June 28th in Atlanta. After dinner, I would love for you all to stay overnight in an AirBnB with me. The house will be near the wedding venue. Rooms will likely be double occupancy but everyone will get their own bed. We will have breakfast catered to the home, do hair and makeup, and then put on dresses at the venue.

What about hair and makeup?

We will have a hair stylist and makeup artists on the morning of the wedding. Please come with your hair freshly blow-dried straight if you would like to wear a straightened hair style. You are free to choose whatever hairstyle you’d like as long as it can be styled in a reasonable amount of time. Make up will be a “light glam” look. Nails should be neatly manicured in any color you like prior to the rehearsal dinner.

Will there be a bachelorette party?

Life is so busy! As much as I would love to have a get-away with you all, we will bond and celebrate during the bridal shower and the night before the wedding!

Will there be a bridal shower?

Yes! Tentatively planned for 5/18/24 or 5/25/24 in the Atlanta, GA area. My mom (Gail Brown) will reach out to you guys to help agree on a date. My schedule for mid/late May is very flexible, so please share what works best for you.

What are the plans for the rehearsal?

The rehearsal will take place at Callanwolde Fine Arts Center at 4:00 PM sharp. My plan is to drop off my overnight bag at the AirBnB at 3:00 PM and then drive over to Callanwolde which is about 20 minutes away with traffic. I would also recommend you do this but it’s not absolutely necessary! But please, please, please plan to arrive to Callanwolde no later than 3:45 because we will do introductions and then we absolutely must finish by 4:20. If you can’t make it to the rehearsal, please let me know - it’s okay! We will find a time the morning of the wedding for you to get familiar with the procession.

What should I bring to the rehearsal?

You should plan to go from the rehearsal straight to the rehearsal dinner. Please do not try to make a stop at home between the two - there is truly not going to be time. Because of this, you should wear what you'd like to wear to the rehearsal dinner to the rehearsal. You should also bring your heels so that you can practice walking down the steps and ensure that you feel comfortable. Like mentioned above, I think it would be efficient to drop off your overnight items at the AirBnB at 3:00, but if you do not plan to do this, you could (1) bring your overnight items with you to the rehearsal and then go directly to the AirBnB after the rehearsal dinner/baseball game or (2) go home after the rehearsal dinner/baseball game and get your overnight items and come to the AirBnB. Keep in mind that you can’t bring large bags inside the stadium, so large bags would need to stay in the car.

Overnight bag essentials: Your bridesmaid dress, nude sandal heels, pearl jewelry, toiletries, undergarments/shapewear, hair accessories. If you want to change into flats/sandals during the wedding reception, bring those shoes too!

What time does the rehearsal dinner end?

Anticipate arriving to the rehearsal at 3:45, leaving the rehearsal at 4:25, arriving to the Braves’ stadium at 5:30, and then leaving the baseball game any time between 8:30 - 10:00. Troy and I will be at the Braves’ game until the very end for the fireworks (~10:00).

What kind of food will be served at the rehearsal dinner?

I’m not sure. But after the dinner we will stay for the Braves game where you will also have $40 credit to purchase food or drinks at the stadium, so there are a lot of options.

What else should I prepare for regarding the rehearsal dinner?

Parking can be expensive at the stadium so you may want to carpool. If you’d like to give a toast, the floor will be open!

What is the schedule like for the morning of the wedding?

The most time-intensive part of the morning is makeup. We need to leave the house around 12:30, so our makeup artist needs to start at 7:00 AM. I will randomly assign times for makeup. Each bridesmaid will need 35 minutes for makeup - sorry in advance if you end up with the 7:00 or 7:35 time slots! Hair will also begin around 9:00 AM. The rest of the morning we will have breakfast and a light lunch before leaving. If you have ideas for games or activities, let me know!

AirBnB Address: 198 2nd Avenue Southeast, Atlanta, GA 30317, United States

The AirBnB is booked from 6/28/24 - 6/30/24. You may leave your things at the house and pick it up after the wedding or early in the morning (before 10am). You could also bring your things with you to the wedding and go straight home if you prefer!
